A Shogi pro player (Sho-gi is a Japanese style chess) said in a Japanese TV that intuition is a kind of extract of all things you have experienced in your life. He said when he cannot read his opponent's next move anymore, he uses his intuition and moves a piece. He says about 70% of his movements (using his intuition) are right.
